Karen Wood, B.S.N., R.N.C., A.P.N.,
Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at
Minnesota State University, Mankato in 1977. She moved to Reno in 1984 and has been working
in women's health care since 1985. She completed her Nurse Practitioner training in 199l at
Planned Parenthood of Minnesota in conjunction with the University of Minnesota.
Karen is certified as a Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner. Karen's goal is to provide
quality gynecologic health care to women throughout their life span, from teens through menopause.
Her focus is on treating each patient as an individual and in educating women in preventative
health care as well as treatment of medical conditions.
The field of gynecology is changing rapidly due to new surgical interventions
and she is excited to be in a position to inform patients on these techniques. She wants to help
women to reach their healthcare goals and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Karen has one teenage daughter, Jenna. Karen enjoys travel, sailing, snorkeling, and reading.
